Transfer News: Burnham FC’s Ethan Light signs for Leyton Orient.

Burnham’s first team defender Ethan Light has agreed terms and signed with League Two side Leyton Orient FC. Everyone at the Burnham Football Club wishes Ethan every success for the future.

Burnham Football Club’s first team manager Ben Murray explains “As a club we are proud to announce that Ethan has been signed by Leyton Orient, it’s something that he truly deserves and the whole squad are all behind him in his pursuit to continue striving forwards in his football career.

At such a young age, he has shown true professionalism in his training and matches in his time here at the club. He has been a major asset to our team performances and he has worked so hard in his individual development in the past few months.

At the start of the season, we sat down with Ethan and put together a development plan to push him to the next level. Within games he has developed his attributes to adult football, from his distribution and playing out at the back to his physicality in 1v1 defending, he has been without doubt excelled his levels in this first half of the season.
He will have a superb career in professional football, he has a great support team around him in his family and he has head firmly screwed on, which is paramount in today’s society.

The best thing that I have experienced in this whole process in the last few months since knowing about his opportunity has been his full contribution to what we are trying to achieve at the club. He hasn’t dropped his training levels or in matches and his communication with myself has been open and honest throughout. This will put him in good stead for the future for sure.

We announced formally to the group at a team meal on Thursday night and all of the lads were really pleased for him and we wish him all the best at Leyton Orient and their quest for promotion to League One.

What Ethan has proved is that we do things the right way at Burnham, we create a environment which prepares young exciting players for the next step on their football journey, this is something that I and the club are extremely proud of.

We know he won’t be a stranger to the club, and he has some great friends within the squad that will be wishing him every success, as he will continue to do for our squad as well.”
