Burnham Football Club is delighted to welcome Darren Purbrick on to its board of directors

We’ve known Darren for several years and have always kept in close contact throughout his football journey. Back in the 2021–22 season, Darren was in charge at Chalvey Sports FC during their time ground-sharing at The 1878 Stadium. Since then, he’s gone on to enhance his reputation further in youth development with Wokingham Town’s U18s before stepping up to a joint-manager role with their senior side.

We’ve always admired Darren’s energy, footballing knowledge, and passion for developing both players and clubs, so it’s fantastic to now have him officially joining our team at board level. His experience, personality, and drive perfectly match the spirit and ambition of Burnham FC, and we know he’ll make a huge impact both on and off the pitch.

Speaking about his move to Burnham, Darren said:

“I’m really looking forward to working alongside the chairman, Glenn, the management team, and the players at Burnham Football Club. There’s already a brilliant atmosphere about the place, created by a fantastic staff, and I know our visions for the club’s future are aligned. I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this happen, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Chairman Glenn Skivington added:

“We’ve stayed regularly in touch with Darren ever since his Chalvey days because our visions for football development at this level are so similar. Inviting him on to the board felt like a natural next step once we heard he had moved away from Wokingham. We are very happy he accepted the invitation and genuinely excited about what he’ll bring to the club as we continue to push forward.”
