What a night under the lights! Burnham FC’s U18s battled their way to victory at Ash United in yet another nail-biting cup tie.
After a tense 90 minutes, the scores were locked at 1-1 thanks to a sharp finish from Tommy Fosh for the Blues. But the real drama came in the shootout—when keeper Ethan Wilson pulled off a heroic save, sparking wild celebrations as the squad piled towards the goalmouth. Burnham were through to the next round of the Allied Counties Youth Football League Cup!
Manager Tom Guy struck a thoughtful tone after the final whistle, with Monday’s narrow FA Youth Cup penalty heartbreak still fresh in the mind: “Football is the cruellest game but it is also the best medicine.”
