Burnham FC Flying High at the Top of the Table
Burnham FC are enjoying a fantastic start to the season, sitting proudly at the top of the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North with 21 points from their opening nine games. With seven wins already under their belt, the Blues have shown they have the quality and determination to be real contenders this year. This Saturday sees Burnham travel to Amersham Town, where joint managers and brothers Mo and Omar Bakali will once again look to get the very best from their squad. The management duo have built a reputation for meticulous preparation, ensuring the team heads into every fixture with focus and belief.
It has been an exciting few months for Blues supporters, with the season opening in style thanks to six straight victories in both league and FA Cup competition. While defeat to Jersey Bulls brought the FA Cup run to an end, Burnham showed resilience by bouncing back with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Abingdon United. A mix of results has followed, but the squad continues to demonstrate strength and togetherness on the road. With nearly a month of consecutive away fixtures, all eyes now turn to Burnham’s welcome return to The 1878 Stadium on Saturday 4th October, when the Blues host Edgware and Kingsbury in front of their home crowd. The return to familiar surroundings is sure to be a boost for players and fans alike, and with new supporters always made welcome at Burnham FC, it promises to be another exciting afternoon of football.
