Burnham Football Club is proud to announce that club captain and central defender Sean Basaye has put pen to paper with Bracknell Town FC, joining the Robins on a dual registration basis.

Sean will now test himself at Step 3 of the non-league pyramid in the Southern League Premier Division South, with Bracknell Town based at The SB Stadium — a fantastic opportunity in his footballing journey.

Joint Manager Omar Bakali paid tribute to his captain, saying:
“I’d like to personally say a huge thank you to Sean for everything he’s given this club. It’s always hard seeing your best players move on, but that is exactly what we do this for. It’s been an incredible four seasons together, and if anyone deserves this opportunity, it’s him.”

The 25-year-old, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and now living in South London, has enjoyed an impressive career path to date. His previous clubs include Charlton Athletic, Tooting & Mitcham United and Guildford City, before joining Burnham FC under the Bakali brothers.

As Burnham FC captain, Sean has been a leader in every sense — respected by teammates and staff alike, and a hugely popular figure both on and off the pitch. Throughout his time at The 1878 Stadium, the club has witnessed his development not only as a footballer, but also as a person and role model.

Sean will always be welcome back at Burnham FC, and his progress will continue to be followed with great pride.

Once again, this move underlines Burnham Football Club’s commitment to developing talent and creating genuine pathways into semi-professional and professional football. Everyone associated with the club wishes Sean every success with Bracknell Town FC, and we look forward to tracking the next chapter of his career.
