Burnham Football Club Statement on yesterday’s game

Club Statement: Sunday 24th August 2025

Burnham Football Club would just like to congratulate all of its players and management on a terrific and well-earned victory away from home yesterday against very good opposition.

Regrettably we can confirm that during yesterday’s fixture one of our players was subjected to alleged racist abuse from an opposing player.

We stand fully behind our player, and indeed all of our other players and staff, and will continue to provide him, and them, with our complete support. Racism has no place in football or society, and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

We have reported the matter to the match officials and will be making the relevant reports to the governing and other interested bodies. We will cooperate fully with all investigations and will pursue this allegation through every appropriate channel to ensure that it is dealt with swiftly and decisively.

We urge everyone involved in football to continue working together to eradicate racism from our game.

Burnham Football Club remains committed to fostering a culture of equality, respect, and inclusion both on and off the pitch.
