Burnham FC through to BB Senior Cup Quarter Finals

Burnham FC’s first team progress into the quarter finals of the Berks and Bucks FC Senior Cup following their 2-0 home win against step 3 side Hungerford Town last night at The 1878 Stadium. Both sides having their fair share of the action in the first 45 saw the first half end goalless. Then blues striker Firas Chniba slotted two passed the Hungerford keeper Nick Harvey in quick succession after the restart. Despite increased pressure from the visitors Burnham managed to end the game with a win and are now waiting for the quarter final draw to see who they face next.

After the game Hungerford Town manager Danny Robinson praised the home side for their determination whilst thanking staff for their hospitality.

Teams still in the competition include Beaconsfield Town who beat Ascot United two days ago, Reading City, Flackwell Heath, Marlow, Maidenhead United and Milton United.

Big guns MK Dons, Reading FC and Wycombe Wanderers have all had a bye thus far.

The game was also last fixture covered by professional sports photographer and friend of the club Gary House. Moving to Devon next week, the Burnham FC players took the opportunity to have a last photo with Gary before he departs and starts his new adventure on the south coast.
